Hi All,
I was wondering if any of you know of a simple, accessible and free sound recording program. All I want to do is record stuff without sound recorder making me press play every time a minute passes by. Nothing simple like editing or anything like that, although I wouldn't mind that, if it exists. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. I really want something, and so far the goods ones I've heard of, like Sound Forge and Gold Wave, cost, and I don't really wanna pay like a lot of money if I'm just gonna record simple stuff, once in awhile.
Thank you so much!
Caitlin

Yeah my blindie friend has Sound Forge and loves it, I've heard they're both good. But Sound Forge is like seventy bucks lol! And I"m not wasting that much money because I'll only record and do nothing fancy teehee. I've hold Goldwave is only like thirty right guys? Not sure.
Thanks though Keao.

Hey why don't you look up Cdex on downloads.com? Not only can you rip CD tracks with it, but you can record stuff with it. You can even record them directly in to MP3 format. Take a look at it. It's completely free.

well whenever I like a program, err, I always go and search for a rack... yes, yes, very bad for you! But you still get free stuff. I have not found any for studio recorder yet, which is excellent for editing but costs like 80 or 90 dollars.

I use Gold Wave only for converting because of a flaw in recording that we found. For recording I use Total Recorder from High Criteria. It has to versions. The free version allows for like up to 45 seconds of recording, and you can record into almost any format. Any format I'd use anyways, and the other version only costs $12 and is unlimited recording. I personally love it.

HI, I use gold wave, and I'm unable to figure out the program it's quite frestraighting. I obtained a legal copy and reccomend it for thoughs of you who want to do a lot of converting, but as far as simple stuff goes, I'm sure it's great, but I have no idea how to use it, I'm needing help with it so if anyone is there who is willing to go through with it with me, I'd appreciate it. thanks, ray! oh and is cdex accessible to jaws?

Hey I think there are some Goldwave classes on FTP (For the People) if you wanna check those, I downloaded them but haven't been through them. And yeah I know this thread is old, sorry. lol
BTW does TotalRecorder let you put in times to start recording? That's the only thing I'm missing, recording on cue. sigh
